 Aerification allows more oxygen to get down into the roots, which aids in deeper root growth

Aerifying opens up the soil, which will force the turfgrass to grow to fill in the gaps. This new growth is essential for a healthy stand of turf.

The healthier the soil is the stronger the stand of turf is.  Thus less weeds you will have to control.

Compost 

Topdressing your turf with compost aids in healthy turf in many ways.

•  Compost will stimulate microbial activity, aid with poorly draining soils, replenish nutrients that your soil never gets on a regular basis. 
•  Although, not every property will need compost topdressing we recommend at least one application per year.
• Any organic program will thrive when compost is added to the soil profile.
